We all have days when we need quick weight loss. Perhaps it is a special birthday or a wedding and you really need to get into your favourite outfit. Or maybe your hubby has sprung a surprise holiday on you but now you are worried if the bikini will fit.
Don’t despair as there are a couple of quick weight loss tips you can use to prepare for these emergencies. In the days prior to the special event cut the fizzy drinks and wheat out of your diet. Both have been linked to bloating and we don’t want to look fatter than we are. Also cut out alcohol and obvious fatty foods such as cakes, biscuits, crisps etc. We can lose a couple of pounds easily if we put our minds to it.
But long term, quick weight loss tips do not work and in fact may be the reason why most people who do not finish their diets end up weighing more than they did when they started out. We need to aim for realistic weight loss i.e. one pound a day. We need to change our whole lifestyle and not just dump the white stuff i.e. sugar, white bread, rice and pasta.
We need to be walking 10,000 steps a day so go buy a pedometer. Anybody regardless of their size can walk more. Take the stairs rather than the lift. Get off the bus one stop before your normal one. Leave the car at home and walk to the shops. Take your kids to the park and not the cinema. Think in terms of small actions as studies show that 20 minutes of exercise done three times a day is better than one full hour at a time.
Think more about what you are eating. Do you really eat until you feel full or is habit making you clear your plate? Cutting down on portion size is one clever way of losing weight without making you feel like you are on a diet.
Perhaps you have tried to diet already and your fridge is full of diet sodas and juices. These products actually cause weight gain and bloating so put them where they belong i.e. in the bin!
Start every day with breakfast. Avoid cereals unless it is porridge made on water or skimmed milk. You do not need to deprive yourself. You could have poached eggs on wholemeal toast or grilled bacon and tomato. Or even an avocado for a change.
Start lunch and dinner with salad or a soup and a drink of water. This way you are less likely to eat more than you need. Put a carb curfew in place. Do not eat carbohydrates after 5pm and you should find losing weight becomes easier. You can fill up on soup and have some protein and vegetables. Very tasty and you are less likely to suffer bloating afterwards.
Try these tips and you will no longer be looking for quick weight loss!
