Baba Ramdev Home Remedies for Weight Loss (Obesity) Part 1

Weight gain is something that usually creeps up on you very slowly. You first start to notice your pants becoming a little tighter around the waist, or your shirt becoming a bit “snug” around the belly area. But you’ll usually just dismiss this and the next time you go to buy clothes, you’ll find that you need to move up a size. This can go on for months and even years (consistently putting on weight and slowly moving up in clothe sizes) before you get to a point where you say, enough is enough. Because you’re here looking for natural ways to lose weight, I’m guessing you’re at that point (which is a good thing too by the way).

When it comes to weight loss, this undertaking seems to make many people cringe just at the very thought! But losing weight isn’t actually that complicated. All you have to do is burn off more calories than you take in. So there you go. That’s all you need to know… end of story!

Okay, I know it’s not as simple as that. There are other factors that govern how you lose weight, but the equation is correct. The problem is you have to get your metabolism to speed up sufficiently to be able to burn enough calories to lose the weight or you’re destined to live off salad and veggies for the rest of your life! The way it works is you need to expend more energy (calories) than what you take in. When you do this, your body will draw on its own stored fat deposits and use this for energy rather than food. This in turn causes your fat cells to shrink.

Kick Starting and Speeding Up Your Metabolism is the Key to Weight Loss Success.

So there are basically two ways to speed up your metabolism. The first way is through eating a specific diet that allows your metabolism to increase naturally. Weight loss companies such as Sureslim, Cohen’s, Light and Easy, and even Jenny Craig use this type of program with great success. The problem is they are expensive and super strict, but they do work.

The other way is through a combination of moderate exercise and healthy eating. I tend to favour this one. After being involved in the health and fitness industry for almost 30 years, I can tell you that trying to lose weight by healthy eating alone is extremely tough. You have to be very disciplined, and most people aren’t. With the combination of exercise and healthy eating, you’ll still lose weight consistently every week, but you can also allow yourself a treat every now and then and get away with it. Of course, you still have to be disciplined to exercise and eat well, but you get that little bit of extra freedom.

And the exercise you do doesn’t have to be like what you see on the Biggest Loser. Sure, these people lose ridiculous amounts of weight, but they exercise for 4-6 hours a day, put themselves through unimaginable pain, and almost kill themselves in the process! A brisk walk, cycling, using the cross trainer or spending some time in the gym is usually enough. Just make sure you get “huffy and puffy” for forty five minutes to an hour, 5-6 days a week.

And as far as “eating for weight loss” goes the high protein, low carb diet (except low GI fruits and vegetables) still works the best. In fact, a recent study conducted at the University of Illinois confirmed that eating a protein-rich diet, in conjunction with moderate exercise, is far more effective at reducing body fat than just eating a low calorie diet alone.

Top 11 Proven Weight Loss Remedies to Lose Weight Fast (and Keep it off)

So along with doing some regular exercise, here’s our top 11 home remedies for weight loss in order of importance. And remember, these tips and tricks are not only designed to help you lose weight quickly, they’re designed to help you keep it off for good! For these to work though, you’re going to need to stick with them until they become habit, no matter how weird some of them may sound…

Baba Ramdev Home Remedies for Weight Loss #1: Drink Filtered Water

There’s an old saying in the weight loss industry… “The more you drink the more you shrink”. Water is your most important friend as far as losing weight and keeping it off. It acts as an appetite suppressant by keeping your stomach full and also helps your body to metabolize and break down stored fat by helping the kidney’s flush out waste. Make sure you drink iced water though (at least 2 litres a day) and not room temperature water. Your body will burn between 60 and 100 calories alone just heating up the water to body temperature. And very often hunger pangs are actually thirst pangs so drinking lots of water will also help to stop overeating. In addition, adding a slice of lemon will not only make the water taste good, you also get the added benefit of the lemon cleansing and detoxing your liver (see #11 home remedy for weight loss), which helps to speed up the fat burning process even more.

Baba Ramdev’s Natural Weight Loss Remedy #2: Green Tea

Green tea is a potent thermogenic (fat burner). Studies show that drinking green tea alone can burn an easy 80 calories a day. The powerful antioxidants in green tea, particularly Matcha green tea, help speed up the body’s metabolism and burn fat for energy. The fantastic health building properties of green tea also make it extremely beneficial. The minimum amount is 3-5 cups a day but the beauty of Matcha green tea is the more you drink the better the results and the better it is for you!

Baba Ramdev Home Remedies for Losing Weight #3: Chilli’s and Mustard

If you like your spicy food then you’re in luck. Chilli’s and mustard are also strong thermogenics and have a long history in helping with losing obesity. They’ll easily boost your calorie burning capacity by 10% for up to 2 hours after eating. The reason? They contain a substance called capsaicin, which speeds up the body’s metabolism dramatically! Keep in mind that red chillies, particularly cayenne pepper, are the best fat burners of them all. Along with adding them to your food, mix a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in half a glass of warm water. Scull down then drink another glass of cold water (be sure to have it at the ready) to cool down your mouth. Do this 2-3 times a day on an empty stomach, especially one hour before your daily exercise. It works an absolute treat for weight loss!

Note: If you find you really can’t handle the heat from the cayenne pepper, you can easily purchase this spice in capsule form. They work just as well. However take doctor’s advice on consuming alcohol.

Baba Ramdev Natural Weight Loss Remedies #4: Supplement With Liquid Colloidal Minerals

One of the most common causes of weight gain in people today is a condition called Pica or cribbing (or more commonly known as binge eating). When the body is deficient in minerals, it will crave food to try and get the nutrients it needs. Because refined and processed foods and snack foods contain no minerals and a lot of empty calories, when people eat these foods to try and satisfy their cravings, all they do is create more cravings, and of course, gain weight in the process. The snack food industry actually has a name for Pica and cribbing… they call it the munchies! Supplementing with liquid colloidal minerals will make these cravings go away naturally in around 6-9 months.

Baba Ramdev Home Remedies for Weight Loss #5: Evening Primrose Oil (EPO)

Evening primrose oil contains the essential fatty acids which are known to help dissolve body fat and assist in the removal of hard fats. Gamma-linolenic acid (found in EPO) increases the activity of brown fat metabolism (the main fat) so the body naturally burns this fat for energy rather than storing any excess calories as fatty tissue. In a study on essential fatty acids and obesity, overweight people were given supplemental EPO every day as part of their diet. After four weeks tests showed a substantial increase in brown fat metabolism in all subjects, and as a result, these people all lost significant amounts of weight. The standard dose for evening primrose oil is 6000 mg’s+ per day taken in divided doses.

Baba Ramdev Natural Remedies for Weight Loss #6: Eat Fiber

Fibre can absorb up to 10 times its own weight. The good thing about fiber is it not only makes you feel full so you eat less, it also absorbs fat as well. The down side to fibre is it can also absorb the good fats (essential fatty acids) and vitamins and minerals so be sure to have your nutritional supplements at times when you aren’t consuming any fiber.

Baba Ramdev Home Remedies to Lose Weight #7: Take Calcium Supplements

Calcium helps encourage the release of fat from fat cells as well as reducing the amount of fat the body absorbs. Best sources are a good quality coral calcium supplement or chelated calcium with added vitamin D and magnesium. Whatever you do though, do not consume dairy foods for calcium. This type of calcium is difficult for the body to digest and processed dairy foods will actually have the opposite effect and make you put on weight, not lose it.

Baba Ramdev Natural Weight Loss Remedy #8: Detox

You’ve probably already seen or heard about most of the Detox diets doing the rounds at the moment. There’s definitely quite a few of them. The reason detox diets work is they flush out and cleanse the body, particularly eliminatory organs such as the liver and kidneys. This then allows these organs to work at maximum efficiency and so you naturally shed weight (fat) quicker. Excellent Detox foods include; cereal grasses, lemons, grapefruits (these also contain an enzyme which accelerates fat loss), cucumber, mint, cherries, strawberries, grapes, prunes, apricots and cranberries. Do yourself a favor and invest in a Nutribullet or Nutri Ninja. These appliances are terrific for making your own detox and weight loss drinks and smoothies (and so easy to use).

Baba Ramdev Home Remedies for Weight Loss #9: Drink Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

Apple cider vinegar is a powerful weight loss remedy. It helps to break down fat in the body, particularly brown fat (the one you want to get rid of) and also normalizes blood sugar and insulin levels. In addition, a compound in ACV known as acetic acid interferes with the body’s ability to digest starch, which means less is broken down and stored as body fat. The best way to take apple cider vinegar for weight loss is one tablespoon mixed in a glass of warm filtered water and drank 10 minutes before a main meal. Do this 3 times daily for best results. Just make sure you only use organic raw, unfiltered ACV containing the “mother” apple. And if you find you can’t stomach the liquid ACV, you can substitute it for the apple cider vinegar capsules, which work equally as well.

Baba Ramdev Natural Weight Loss Remedies #10: Milk Thistle

If you haven’t read the hugely successful weight loss book “The Liver Cleansing Diet” by Dr Sandra Cabot, I highly recommend you do. Dr Cabot’s theory is that a poor functioning liver (“fatty liver”) is the main cause of people gaining weight, as well as not being able to lose weight. She’s definitely right on the money with this one. Research has shown that a sluggish liver can slow weight loss by at least 30%. I’ve already mentioned how important detoxification is for weight loss, and detoxifying the body’s biggest eliminatory and fat burning organ (the liver) is the most important of them all! And that’s where the potent milk thistle herb comes in. This herb is a super impressive liver detoxifier, cleanser and repairer. In fact, it’s one of the standard ingredients listed in most natural liver tonics. You can easily buy it in capsule form from most good health food stores or online from places. For dosage amounts, follow the directions on the bottle.

Baba Ramdev Home Remedies to Reduce Weight #11: Lemon and Black Pepper

Lemon juice is an old folk remedy for weight loss. It helps with liver detoxification and fat metabolism. Black pepper contains a compound called piperine, which helps reduce fat levels in the blood. Black pepper also enhances the effectiveness of the lemon juice as well. Simply mix the juice of half a fresh lemon in a glass of filtered water. Add a few sprinkles of black pepper (4-6 turns of your pepper grinder) into the mix and drink 3 times daily.

  1. Mature Man says:

Try the Natural Cures for Obesity. Obesity may be described as a bodily condition characterised by excessive deposition or storage of fat in adipose tissue. It usually results from consumption of food in excess of physiological needs. Obesity is common among people in Western countries and among the higher income groups in India and other developing countries. Obesity can occur at any age in either sex. Its incidence is higher in persons who consume more food and lead sedentary lives. Among women, obesity is liable to occur after pregnancy and at menopause. A woman usually gains about 12 kgs of weight during pregnancy. Part of this is an increase in the adipose tissue, which serves as a store against the demands of lactation. Many women gain more and retain part of this weight. They become progressively obese with each succeeding child. Obesity is a serious health hazard as the extra fats puts a strain on the heart, kidneys and liver as well as the large weight-bearing joints such as the hips, knees and ankles, which ultimately shortens the life span. It has been truly said, ‘the longer the belt, the short the life.‘ Overweight persons are susceptible to several diseases like coronary thrombosis, heart failure, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, gout, and liver and gall-bladder disorders. Causes: The chief cause of obesity, most often, is overeating – i.e., the intake of calories beyond the body’s energy requirement. Some people are habituated to eating too much while others may be in the habit of consuming high-calorie foods. These people gain weight continuously as they fail to adjust their appetite to reduce energy requirements. There has, in recent times, been an increase in awareness of psychological aspects of obesity. Persons who are generally bored, unhappy, lonely, or unloved, those who are discontented with their families, or social or financial standing usually tend to overeat as eating is a pleasure and solace to them. Obesity is sometimes also the result of disturbances of the thyroid or pituitary glands. But glandular disorders account for only about 2% of the total incidence of obesity. In such persons, the basal metabolism rate is low and they keep gaining weight unless they take a low-calorie diet. Treatment: A suitably planned course of dietetic treatment, in conjunction with suitable exercise and other measures for promoting elimination is the only scientific way of dealing with obesity. The chief consideration in this treatment should be the balanced selection of foods which provide the maximum essential nutrients with the least number of calories. To begin with, the patient should undertake a juice fast for 7-10 days. Juices of lemon, grape fruit, orange, pineapple, cabbage, celery, may be taken during this period. Long juice fast up to 40 days can also be undertaken, but only under expert guidance and supervision. In the alternative, short juice fasts should be repeated at regular intervals of two months or so till the desired reduction in weight is achieved. After the juice fast, the patient should spend a further four or five days on an all-fruit diet, taking three meals of fresh juicy fruits such as oranges, grapefruit, pineapple and papaya. Thereafter, he may gradually embark upon a low-calorie well- balanced diet of three basic food groups, namely (i) seeds, nuts and grains, (ii) vegetables and (iii) fruits, with emphasis on raw fruits, vegetables, and fresh juices. The foods which should be drastically curtailed or altogether avoided are high-fat foods such as butter, cheese, chocolates, cream, ice-cream, fat meats, fried foods, and gravies; high carbohydrate foods like bread, candy, cake, cookies, cereal products, legumes, potatoes, honey, sugar, syrup and rich puddings beverages such as all-fountain drinks and alcoholic drinks. One sure method of reducing weight is by practicising what is known as “Fletcherism”. It was discovered in 1898 by Horace Fletcher of the U.S.A.. Fletlcher, at 40, considered himself an old man. He was 50 pounds overweight, contracted flu every six months and constantly complained of indigestion and a tired feeling. After a deep study, he made some important discoveries and prescribed the rules for “Fletcherism” which are as follows: 1. Chew your food to a pulp or milky liquid until it practically swallows itself. (Ayurvedic tip) ======= 2. Never eat until hungry. (Ayurvedic tip) ======= 3. Enjoy every bite or morsel, savouring the flavour until it is swallowed. ======= 4. Do not eat when tired, angry, worried, and at mealtime refuse to think or talk about unpleasant subjects. (Ayurvedic tip) ======= Horace Fletcher followed these rules for five months. As a result he lost more than 60 pounds and felt better than he had for 20 years. A weight-reducing programme built on Fletcherism works wonders and is worth a trial. Ingestion of honey is an excellent home remedy for obesity. It mobilises the extra deposited fat in the body and puts it into circulation which is utilised as energy for normal functions. One should start with small quantity of about 10 g to be taken with hot water. The dose can be gradually increased. Fasting on honey-lime juice water is highly beneficial in the treatment of obesity without the loss of energy and appetite. In this mode of treatment, one spoon of fresh honey should be mixed with a juice of half a lime in a glass of lukewarm water and taken at regularly intervals. Another effective remedy for obesity is an exclusive lemon juice diet. On the first day the patient should be given nothing but plenty of water. On the second day juice of three lemons mixed with equal amount of water should be given. One lemon should be subsequently increased each day until the juice of 12 lemons is consumed per day. Then the number of lemons should be decreased in the same order until three lemons are taken in a day. The patient may feel weak and hungry on the first two days, but afterwards the condition will be stabilised by itself. Cabbage is considered to be an effective home remedy for obesity. Recent research has discovered in this vegetable a valuable content called tartroric acid which inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Hence, it is of great value in weight reduction. A helping of cabbage salad would be the simplest way to stay slim, a painless way of dieting. A 100 g of cabbage yields only 27 kg of calories of energy while the same quantity of wheat bread will yield about 240 calories. Cabbage is found to possess the maximum biological value with minimum calorific value. Moreover, it gives a lasting feeling of fullness in the stomach and is easily digestible. Along with dietetic treatment, the patient should adopt all other natural methods of reducing weight. Exercise is an important part of weight reduction plan. It helps to use up calories stored in body fat and relieves tension, besides toning up the muscles of the body. Walking is the best exercise to begin with and may be followed by running, swimming, rowing, and other outdoor sports. Certain yogi asanas are highly beneficial. Not only do they break up or redistribute fatty deposits and help slimming, but they also strengthen the flabby areas. Sarvangasana, halasana, bhujangasana, shalabhasana, dhanurasana, chakrasana, naukasana, ardh-matsyendrasana, paschimottanasana, vajrasana, yogamudra, and trikonasana are recommended. These asanas work on the glands, improve circulation, strengthen many weak areas and induce deep breathing which helps to melt off excess fat gradually. Yogic kriyas like kunjal and jalneti and pranayamas such as kapalbhati and bhastrika are also helpful in normalising body weight. The patient should also adopt measures which bring on excessive perspiration such as sauna baths, steam bath, and heavy massage. They help to reduce weight. Above all, obese persons should make every effort to avoid negative motions such as anxiety, fear, hostility and insecurity and develop a positive outlook on life.

  2. Sageur says:

My problem is little bit different. I am sorry for such a long detailed comment. I added this disclaimer when I found after some minutes that I had written a lot…………………………….. My wife and I have been together for almost 16 years now (I’m 32, she’s 30). When we met we were both a healthy weight. After highschool I gained a few pounds (became chubby, not fat) and while she was in highschool she was prescribed prozac and gained a fair amount of weight (probably 60lbs in a few years). When we got married (22 and 20 years old) she was close to 200 lbs at 5’3″ and I was 205 at 5’9″. I didn’t mind that she was a little overweight because I was a little overweight and I figured we could lose it together. As the years went on I stayed close to the same (got up to 215 lbs at one point) but she kept gaining and gaining. We tried a few different exercise plans here and there but nothing really stuck for the first 5 years. After 5 years I was up to 215 lbs and she was about 300 lbs. We purchased a condo that had a gym and on the same day we moved in our work started a “Summer Slim-Down” contest. Winner got $250 so we both entered; I took it seriously and she didn’t. Over the next 6 weeks I dropped 30 lbs and she lost 3, I believe. I won the contest and continued to work out regularly for the next 3 years and asked her EVERY TIME if she wanted to join me but she rarely did. I got in really good shape and wanted her to be as well. I tried everything. I was nice, supportive, helpful. I would ask if she would like me to make her some of what I’m eating for dinner (healthy items: chicken, veggies, etc.) but she ALWAYS refused because she’s so damn picky. Her diet consists of mainly mac and cheese and ice cream. She has ice cream EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. And not just 1 or 2 servings, but 3 or 4+. She goes through a 1.5 quart container in 3, sometimes 2 days. Hell, she’s gone through one in a 24 hour period. And she’s dragging me down with her. It’s not even her weight that bothers me so much, but her lack of commitment to our relationship in general. She does nothing to help out around the house. And I mean nothing. I do 49/50 loads of laundry, 99/100 loads of dishes, she vacuums maybe once a year, cleans her bathroom maybe twice a year. She’ll work 12-14 hour days and bust her ass for our employer, but she does NOTHING to help me out. She comes home from work and sits in her recliner for 4-6 hours playing on her god damn phone. She waits until I get up and then asks me to make her dinner or get her water or grab her the tablet out of the bedroom, but she won’t get up herself to do anything but go to the bathroom and get herself ice cream (because I give her smaller portions). After years and years of her wanting a dog I finally gave in hoping that would get her out and moving. I refused for so long because I knew, I KNEW, I would be primarily responsible for it. It would be up to me to walk it, take it potty, clean up it’s puke/poop/pee, feed it, everything. A friend of hers fostered a border collie puppy that we fell in love with and she PROMISED that she would help, so I finally relented. I was right. She does NOTHING. Literally NOTHING to help out with her. I walk her 3 times a day (3-5 miles almost every day), train her, take her potty, go home at lunch and play/walk her, clean up her shit inside when she has accidents and outside. All she wants to do is cuddle with her and feed her treats (and she’s not a cuddly dog so my wife just mad that she won’t cuddle). And now she’s hurt because our dog is a daddys girl. I raised her! My wife went to 1/12 training classes with us. Spent, maybe, 5 minutes a week “training” her (just doing tricks she already knew and giving her treats). When we first got her as a puppy I woke up every 2 hours in the middle of the night to take her potty so she wouldn’t have an accident. I wake up every day at 6:30 while my wife sleeps because she has to go potty. Since we got her last March my wife has taken her out 2 times in the morning and let me sleep in. It’s ruining our marriage. I don’t find her attractive at all and then she gets hurt when I don’t want to have sex with her. Up until recently I could just grit my teeth and get the job done, albeit as seldom as possible. But now I’m having trouble keeping it up while we’re having sex. I have to close my eyes and imagine someone else. It’s not ED; I can stay rock hard when watching porn and masturbating just fine. When we got our dog last year all my free time disappeared and with that my exercise time. I stopped working out completely and gained 20 lbs over the past year. My wife can’t even be bothered to take her potty while I work out because “she’d have to put pants on”. So I have to stop what I’m doing and take her out. She won’t even get out of her recliner to play with her and keep her busy for an hour a few nights a week. I’m at the absolute end of my rope. For the first time in our 10 year marriage I’m truly considering talking to a divorce lawyer. Funny thing is, we can’t afford a divorce because my wife has no fucking clue what’s going on with our finances. She’ll buy Groupons and shit without even logging into our bank account to see if there’s a single fucking dime in our account. Or ask if said dime is reserved for a bill. She just doesn’t give a fuck. She recently took out a loan on her 401k because she wanted to go on a vacation and then insisted on buying a $1,300 Surface Pro 3 with half of the loan.

  3. Cynthia says:

I do follow strict yoga diet. I would like to relate to real life incidence with all. Never mentioned it, cooked/bought good healthy food, discouraged us from eating out so much, took him on walks with me, when he asks me to give him privacy to do push-ups and crunches I politely leave the room and don’t make a big deal of it, while it made him less attractive to me I never mentioned it (he was still attractive). That was two years ago and now he is no longer overweight.
