Lap Band works-this is a surgeon taking isolated cases and bashing the band.Lots of people are successful with the band. I know surgeons that have patients that have had other Bariatric surgeries that gained the weight back. With the band they say not to eat bread anymore,so why does everyone keep trying? There is a loose set of rules with the band and avoiding bread and rice is one of the rules, chewing well too.

    Dr. Rutledge,

I am in Texas and have been banded since 2001. I throw up all the time and think I might have actually damaged my body from this. I watched a video of you and a woman that had a failed lap band procedure with good and bad eating days. That is exactly what I have experienced for the last 7 years, good eating days and bad eating days. I was just wondering if you can help my situation and if insurance is taken to cover the procedure.

    Thank you

    SF
