The secret to Anti-Aging, better health and longevity is as simple as drinking a glass of water. Ironically, many people still forget to do this one simple thing. We seem to take fresh drinking water for granted but for many people in the world this is a luxury. We are inundated with so many choices that it’s easy to get sidetracked and forget that the very best liquid to drink is water. There is no substitute for drinking clear, fresh water. No juice, Gatorade, soda, tea or energy drink can do what water can for your body.

There’s a difference between drinking water and other substances. Water is the natural medium your body needs for literally every single system. Your blood is primarily made up of water. Your brain requires water to transmit signals from one place to another. Your organs require plenty of fresh water to digest your food and remove waste products. Your cells and your muscles also require water to function properly. Without water your body starts shutting down – fast.

So why is it so hard for modern people to drink enough water? Some people actually tell me they don’t like water. How can that be? Water is the most natural thing for you to like. It’s almost like saying you don’t like to breathe air. I think what most people are saying is that they’re actually more used to drinking something other than water. Our culture relies heavily on food additives and sugars. You may be used to drinking something that is artificially flavored or sweetened. Like it or not, your body has become addicted to that substance over your need for water.

But you can change this by modifying your behavior. If you’re not drinking enough water try substituting one glass of water for every other type of drink you have.

Even beverages that contain water do not hydrate your body the same way fresh filtered water does. Fruit drinks, soft drinks and coffees contain additives and caffeine and they can actually contradict the positive effects of the water. Caffeinated drinks stimulate the arena glands. As contain phosphorus, asp pertain and a host of other chemical flavors that your colon and liver must cleanse.

Caffeine can also act as a diuretic, which means you may lose more water than you take in. Many of these drinks take more energy to digest than they give it in water. Just remember, a 12 ounce can of regular soda contains nearly 9 teaspoons of sugar. No wonder you’re actually thirstier after you drink one than before.

Water is a fundamental element in our bodies. Your body is almost 75 percent water. Every single day of your life your body must replace 2 and a half quarts of water. This means, if you’re not drinking at least 2 and a half quarts of water per day, you run the risk of becoming dehydrated. You must also take into consideration that some foods, heat and exercise can mean you even need more water.

Many people know they need to drink more water but are concerned with the quality of water that comes out of their tap. That’s understandable. The water quality in America has gone down in the last 25 years. We are exposed to more chemicals, toxins and pollutants than ever before. Our water sources are becoming increasingly polluted and toxic and water standards have decreased just since the year 2004. Nobody wants to drink more water if they feel it’s not safe.

15 years ago the idea of buying bottled water was considered ridiculous. Who would have thought that this would be $1,000,000,000 industry? The fact that there’s so many bottled water products shows that people want to be drinking more water and that they do not trust the water that comes out of the tap. One of the problems with bottled water is that you really don’t know how pure it is.

Some of them are literally just filtered public water in a plastic container. They all claim to be pure. Another issue is the fact that it takes 10 times the energy to create bottled water than it does to filter it. This will soon be a problem for public land fills an energy plants. This is one reason why so many people are opting for an in home filtration system.
